KITZ Aluminum
Butterfly Valvesare designed with a unique neck construction that supports
various pipe layouts, installation positions, and demanding industrial environments.
SPECIAL FEATURES OF KITZ ALUMINUM BUTTERFLY VALVES
• Easy valve-to-flange centering: The lightweight aluminum valve body (only
one-third the weight of KITZ’s conventional cast-iron butterfly valves) makes valve-to-flange
centering easier during installation.
• Wide range of service applications: The austenitic stainless-steel disc
provides superior corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term durability across diverse
industrial applications.
• Stabilized operating torque: Dual stem bearings on the top and bottom prevent
galling and stabilize operating torque, allowing smooth, consistent disc rotation.
• On-site actuator assembly: All valve necks feature ISO 5211–compliant actuator
mounting pads, enabling direct and easy on-site actuator installation.
• Prevention of dew condensation: The long stainless-steel neck minimizes
heat transfer from fluid to operating devices, reducing the need for insulation.
Gear-operated valves also experience reduced condensation in cold-water applications.
• Rust prevention: Major components such as stems, discs, necks, connectors,
and endplates—along with stopper plates, washers, and bolts—are manufactured from
stainless steel, ensuring superior rust resistance.
• S-shaped spherical disc (patented): KITZ’s patented S-shaped disc design
ensures uniform contact with rubber liners, enhancing sealing performance while
reducing operating torque. The 360° shut-off design increases rubber liner life.
(Applicable for sizes 2" and above.)
• Advanced KITZ EPDM seats: EPDM seats are designed with multiple performance-enhancing
features:
High sealing reliability
Extended service life
Self-reinforcing back ribs to prevent distortion, skidding, and liner exfoliation
caused by pressure and friction
Wider disc seating contact for superior sealing
Dual stem seal bearings for stabilized sealing performance
Gasket-less flange sealing for easier valve mounting
